Hauling heavy-duty equipment to that next big job? Towing your yacht out to the lake for another weekend on the water? Bringing some livestock home to the farm from the county auction? Whatever towing hurdle you need to overcome, make it look easy with CURT.

CURT Xtra Duty class 5 trailer hitches go above and beyond in design, capacity and longevity to provide you with a dependable extension of your truck. These heavy-duty hitches are engineered to withstand the rigors of towing the largest of non-commercial trailers, matching the strength and dependability of full-size pickup trucks, vans and SUVs.

Each class 5 hitch is made for a vehicle-specific fit to ensure seamless integration and maximum towing power. This particular custom class 5 hitch is designed to mount onto certain years of the Cadillac Escalade, Chevy Suburban, Suburban or Tahoe and GMC Yukon (check the application information to verify that this hitch will fit your specific year, make, model and style). A vehicle-specific design also provides the easiest possible installation, reducing or completely eliminating drilling and modifications. This hitch comes with high-strength grade-8 hardware for a solid mount.

This class 5 Cadillac / GMC / Chevy hitch is built with an extra-large main body. The hitch is constructed from high-strength steel, and the center section is made extra-large to achieve the necessary towing capacity for tough jobs. This particular hitch is tested and rated for 16,000 pounds gross trailer weight and 2,400 pounds tongue weight. It can also be used with a weight distribution hitch and is rated to 17,000 lbs. WD and 2,400 lbs. WDTW. This makes it the ideal choice for all varieties of heavy-duty trailers -- from full-size utility trailers and equipment haulers to horse trailers and yacht trailers (never exceed the lowest-rated towing component).

All CURT Xtra Duty class 5 hitches come with an industry-standard 2" x 2" receiver tube opening. This provides a versatile mount for a variety of heavy-duty ball mounts, pintle hitches, weight distribution hitches and other towing accessories. It can also readily accept a cargo carrier or bike rack for extra storage space. The 2" hitch receiver is equipped with a steel collar for added strength, and the back of the receiver is open to allow for easy clean-out of dirt and debris. To keep the receiver hitch clean, a hitch tube cover can be installed when not use, helping to protect it against grime and corrosion.

To give you confidence for the road ahead and ensure the safety of you and your loved ones, every CURT custom tow hitch design is thoroughly tested according to SAE J684. We test our hitches at our in-house testing facility in Detroit, MI, using real vehicles and multifaceted testing to simulate real towing conditions. All of our class 5 hitches are constructed with large safety chain loops to accept heavy-duty hooks and safety chains.

Like all CURT custom tow hitches, our Xtra Duty class 5 hitches are made right here in the USA (may include imported hardware). We engineer each one using real vehicles to ensure a truly custom fit for each application. We fabricate and weld every trailer hitch using a combination of robotic and manual processes for absolute accuracy and efficiency.

Finally, all of our custom trailer hitches undergo an industry-leading finishing process for unparalleled rust, chip and UV protection. First the hitches are chemically and mechanically descaled for a smooth surface. Then, they are immersed in a liquid A-coat that covers the tow hitch inside and out with an initial rust-resistant layer. Next, a highly durable carbide black powder coat finish is applied over the A-coat. At last, the two finishes are cured together, forming a superior shield against scuffs, scratches and the elements.

CURT custom-fit trailer hitches are built for long-lasting dependability. Each one is backed by a limited lifetime warranty.

    Beefy

I bought this hitch for my 2003 Escalade (Tahoe body), as my vehicle did not come with a hitch at all; it is actually a non-tow package truck, but had the tow wiring tucked up in the frame and factory capped off. Install went well, this hitch is HEAVY, I had it set up on my jack and stands when installing, the supplied hardware works well, I did have to trim the bumper cover a tad though. The hitch was interfering with the cover, so I took my Dremel and cut a very tiny portion above the receiver and it's fine again, like factory. .

It's complete overkill for my needs, the most I have towed is a single car trailer and open utility trailer (performed flawlessly) but I like knowing that it will give me years of trouble free reliable service, and zero fear of recovery issues should I get stuck or get someone un-stuck.

Bottom line: no complaints, very well built, very heavy duty, the truck frame will buckle before this hitch does, you won't regret buying it!

    BEEF!

I rely on my 06 Tahoe to do some heavy hauling - including pulling a 24' enclosed trailer with a show car inside. My factory hitch was rusty and I wanted a hitch that I can rely on for years to come. The ClassV hitch is super beefy and exactly what I need! It mounted right up to the factory location and I didnt even have to remove the spare! Thanks Curt!

    Dimentional Info 15324

I want to use this model 15324 from E-Trailer (C15324) on my 2003 Yukon SLT (non XL). GMC's OEM Class IV came on it in 2003 but design is not robust, welds are bad, etc. I like the welds and look or your Class V but it will only fit a Yukon XL due to 2 extra bolts (longer frame mounts). I can drill the two extra holes. Failing a 'Yes it will fit if you manage the 2 extra holes' please at least send bolt to bolt dimensions.

    Curt 15324

This is a very well built hitch. Curt should work on their packaging though. My hitch was just put in a box twice as big as the hitch and by the time it got to me it was hanging out the side of the box and the paint is all chipped and scuffed from banging around. Other than that I am happy with this hitch.

Tremendous upgrade from the factory hitch

I used the Curt Class 5 Xtra Duty to replace the very rusted OEM round tube hitch on my 2003 GMC Yukon (a hitch that with a reputation for failure, weakness, and defective welds).

The difference between the two hitches was dramatic. The welds and finish were exemplary. The Curt probably weighed more than double what the OEM hitch weighed. The thickness of the steel was beyond confidence-inspiring. I have no doubt that the frame of the truck would fail before this hitch did.

As an engineer, I evaluate products with a very critical eye and I can find almost nothing negative to say about this one.

Note: Although not recommended or approved by Curt, if you are replacing a factory hitch, you can reuse the factory 14mm factory bolts and nuts in all six mounting locations (rather than just in the two highest stress points identified in the Curt instructions). These bolts are larger in diameter than the Curt-supplied 1/2" bolts, tighten to a 15% higher torque spec, fit more snugly in the vehicle frame and hitch mounting holes, and use the same 21mm socket for each.

    Curt XD Trailer #15324

I recently had my OEM hitch on my 2003 Yukon Xl bend while using my weight distribution hitch, Time to go shopping and came across the Curt XD hitch and liked what I saw. Install was fast and seamless, VERY well built hitch, standard reciever 2" which means I do not have to replace all my recievers $$$.
Now I found 2 things that I did not like but was easy to resolve.
    1) They had no prevision for my oem 7 way plug to attach.
    2) The reciever mount to short by 1/4 of a inch clearance to install my rubber reciever cover around the mount.
Both issues were easly to resolve.
Over all this hitch is a good chioce and will see many years of use.
