CURT class 3 trailer hitches are designed, built and tested to accommodate a wide variety of towing applications. They are used on everything from full-size cars, vans and crossovers to light-duty pickup trucks and SUVs. Class 3 trailer hitches are perfect for towing fishing boat trailers, popup campers, ATV trailers, utility trailers and much more. They are also ideal for adding storage space to your vehicle with a hitch-mounted cargo carrier or bike rack (NOTE: Never exceed the lowest-rated towing component).
Each CURT class 3 hitch is engineered to fit on a specific vehicle. This provides the best possible fit and easiest installation. This particular custom class 3 hitch fits specific years of the Dodge Sprinter 2500 or 3500, Freightliner Sprinter 2500 or Mercedes-Benz Sprinter 2500 or 3500 (to verify vehicle compatibility, see the CURT application guide or use the Vehicle Lookup tool). It is designed to integrate with the vehicle's existing features and offer a reliable connection to your trailer.
This Sprinter hitch is stringently tested in accordance with SAE J684 to ensure a weight carrying capacity of 5,000 lbs. gross trailer weight and 500 lbs. tongue weight. It is compatible with a weight distribution hitch to provide more stable towing and a weight distribution rating of 7,500 lbs. WD and 750 lbs. WDTW. It also features a 2" receiver tube opening to accept ball mount or other hitch accessory with a 2" x 2" shank.
From class 1 to class 5, all CURT custom-fit receiver hitches are made in the USA to ensure quality from design to finish (may include imported hardware). They are designed with hands-on engineering for a precise fit. They are welded using a combination of manual and robotic operations for speed and accuracy. Finally, they are finished with our unique co-curing process. Each hitch is dipped in a liquid A-coat for rust prevention, inside and out, and then co-cured in a durable black powder coat finish for maximum rust, chip and UV resistance.

Awesome product. Well made and fit perfectly in all dimensions. Very robust. The holes are exact and the instructions are clear. Used the box it came in under the van to prevent scraping it while installing it. I used a jack to raise it into place and the install was quite easy. One thing to note is that it requires a (deep) 17.5 mm socket. The 18 works but with a little play and the 17mm is a bit too small (of course) to fit. I have a large number of sockets - of all stripes - impact, English, metric, deep, 1/2" and 3/8" drive etc. but had no 17.5mm. Also, due to the clearances I used a large vise grip to hold the nut while removing and tightening the bolts (it would be a bit hard to get a wrench in there (but it could be done). I have a 2014 Sprinter 2500 and it came with the rear step so...no factory option for a receiver (which I don't really understand). This hitch goes in below it with plenty of clearance so as to allow access to the spare tire and to keep the step. I would echo the other reviewer in saying that the sides are a little deep (high) so a sharp angle could cause it to scrape but installing it makes you realize that to do it differently is not really an option given the presence of the step, the spare tire and the dimensions of the rear of the van. Truly a great product and you cannot be disappointed.

Well made hitch. Quality welds and powder coat. I did install this in 30-40 minutes as described no issues. You have to remove a rubber exhaust hanger is all which was in the instructions.. It fits great. I wish it came with a bracket for a 7 pin connector.
The vertical mounting brackets could be shortened and chamfered closer to the cross bar as it will scrape when backing down an incline or with moderate changes in grade. Other than the scrapes on the corners the finish has held up well after 2 1/2 years.
