CURT class 3 trailer hitches are designed, built and tested to accommodate a wide variety of towing applications. They are used on everything from full-size cars, vans and crossovers to light-duty pickup trucks and SUVs. Class 3 trailer hitches are perfect for towing fishing boat trailers, popup campers, ATV trailers, utility trailers and much more. They are also ideal for adding storage space to your vehicle with a hitch-mounted cargo carrier or bike rack (NOTE: Never exceed the lowest-rated towing component).
Each CURT class 3 hitch is engineered to fit on a specific vehicle. This provides the best possible fit and easiest installation. This particular custom class 3 hitch fits specific years of the Ram 1500, 2500 or 3500 and Dodge Ram 1500, 2500 or 3500 (to verify vehicle compatibility, see the CURT application guide or use the Vehicle Lookup tool). It is designed to integrate with the vehicle's existing features and offer a reliable connection to your trailer.
This Dodge Ram hitch is stringently tested in accordance with SAE J684 to ensure a weight carrying capacity of 6,000 lbs. gross trailer weight and 600 lbs. tongue weight. It is compatible with a weight distribution hitch to provide more stable towing and a weight distribution rating of 10,000 lbs. WD and 1,000 lbs. WDTW. It also features a 2" receiver tube opening to accept ball mount or other hitch accessory with a 2" x 2" shank.
From class 1 to class 5, all CURT custom-fit receiver hitches are made in the USA to ensure quality from design to finish (may include imported hardware). They are designed with hands-on engineering for a precise fit. They are welded using a combination of manual and robotic operations for speed and accuracy. Finally, they are finished with our unique co-curing process. Each hitch is dipped in a liquid A-coat for rust prevention, inside and out, and then co-cured in a durable black powder coat finish for maximum rust, chip and UV resistance.
Every CURT custom hitch design is thoroughly tested at our in-house testing facility in Detroit, MI. We adhere to the proposed SAE J684 testing protocols to make sure that the hitch you mount on your vehicle will be a dependable means to enjoy your lifestyle.
Whatever your passion -- whether it's hunting, fishing, camping, offroading or hard work -- you can expect reliability for the road ahead. All CURT custom hitches are covered by a limited lifetime warranty to give you confidence in each adventure, season after season.

The hitch is very easy to install. I didn't have any issues with missing hw or instructions.
Gave it 3 stars for a couple of reasons.
Star 1 = Why don't you use a 3/8 key allen? That is the most common largest key allen in a set. I had to track down a 1/2 inch to install.
2. The bumper cover cap doesn't fit over the 1/2 bolt because it is sticking up above the bumper. Now I have to find something that will work to cover the bolt so water doesn't pool in there, and rust out the bumper. Not happy about that. -
It took me longer to get everything setup then it did to install the hitch. I had just gotten my cast off . So kudos to Curt and RockAuto.com... It looks great, we love it...
-
The video was a big help-did not even use a jack-just lowered the spare-used fish tape - and was all done in 20 minutes-Great!!
-
I think it took longer to get the tools out from under the seat to lower the spare tire to make sure bolts were torqed to proper specs. So fast and simple install the fishing wire attach to bolts is amazing and fast! Thanks again for a great product.

Watch the installation video and it will one of the easiest jobs you've ever done.
Unfortunately the flat head socket cap screw takes an usually large hex bit socket (1/2") and will need to buy that too. Why don't they make it the size of say, a 3/8" drive?
Good looking hitch when done. -
Asked for this and received it for Christmas. Unfortunately, it came without the mounting hardware. Buyer informed Amazon and they overnighted another hitch with hardware. Spent longer getting my tools together than I did mounting it (15 minutes). The fish tool (2 foot or so piece of cable coiled like a spring at one end) worked slick as a whistle to get the mounting bolts through the tube. Just push the coiled end through the mount holes and out the end of your tube. Then thread the bolt into the coil and pull it back through the tube and out the mounting hole. Looks great installed, can't wait to use it!
