Protective MultiPro / Multi-Flex Tailgate Sensor with 2" Hitch Cap #58265

I give it 5 stars.. is it possible to get a replacement flipper door? My hinge is cracked. Otherwise it works great

Works great - I love that it saves the inner tailgate from opening to cause damage. But it also disables the main tailgate after the inner tailgate has been attempted to open. How does someone reset so that the main tailgate can open after it has been disabled? My brother took truck and pushed top button which disabled both (showed in truck as inner tailgate open), but couldn't figure out how to get main tailgate open and access equipment under tonneau cover. Eventually it reset somehow and he got it opened. Would be good to have it documented somewhere how to reset the locked out both tailgates.

I have a 2022 GMC Sierra Limited SLT. This product was installed by the dealer and works great. I only have 2 requests for improvement. 1, make the lid replaceable. Mine is hanging on for dear life since I accidentally stepped on it. 2, it would be even better if I could choose to open the primary tailgate without the secondary OR the secondary without the primary. (I've been in several situations where the jack on the trailer prevented me from opening the primary tailgate but I could have accomplished my task had the secondary opened.)
Otherwise, high praise to the team that designed this!

Installation was a breeze. Disables inner tailgate when switch cover is open. Both parts of tailgate function with cover closed. One unexpected thing. If I push the inner gate button with cover open, it disables the whole tailgate for app. 45 secs. No big deal, just unexpected. Just installed today. I will review after some use.

Review of the Curt Protective Multi-Pro Tailgate Sensor.
The package arrived completely unscathed which I was happy to see. Inside the shipping box were 2 of the Curt Protective Multi-Pro Tailgate Sensor boxes. I’m not sure why but the invoice says 2

UPDATE : After having the Curt Protective Multi-Pro Tailgate Sensor installed and used for almost 4 months, I have not found any issues with the unit. The unit performed flawlessly during our 4K mile trip through some National Parks this summer. The cover was opened and closed way too many times to count and the spring on the cover is just as "snappy" as when it was originally installed. There was never any issue with the tailgate dropping onto the hitch that we had installed. I tried multiple times to see if the unit would fail but it never did. One of my original concerns was how the plastic frame and attachment parts would hold up. So far, so good. There does not appear to be any issue with longevity of these parts. As I kept using the unit by installing and removing my hitch multiple times, I discovered that I did not have to remove the GMC supplied 2" receiver sleeve every time that I removed the hitch and closed the cover. In fact, the cover seems to close better/tighter when having the sleeve installed. Bonus points for not having to store the sleeve somewhere in my truck !!

This is slick. Definitely watch the install video. Took about a hour and works great. Plug and play wiring harness so no splicing is required. There was a very slight amount of movement on the receiver when I bolted the 2 halves together so I wrapped it with electricians tape twice and it snugged right up. Tape was completely covered by the cover. Love the product!
