CURT class 1 trailer hitches are the perfect way to add extra storage space to your vehicle for all events, activities and adventures. For compact cars, sedans and crossovers, a class 1 hitch provides a functional rear receiver tube for attaching a hitch-mounted cargo carrier or bike rack or for towing a light-duty trailer. Class 1 receiver hitches make it easy to pack the things you want without having to cram the trunk or even the backseat full of cargo.

Like all CURT custom trailer hitches, each class 1 trailer hitch is designed to fit a specific vehicle application. A vehicle-specific design ensures the best possible fit with the simplest and most secure installation. This particular class 1 hitch offers a custom fit for certain years of the Mercedes-Benz E350 (to verify vehicle compatibility, see the application information or use the Vehicle Lookup tool). The custom-fit design optimizes the installation to eliminate all unnecessary modifications, and it promotes an integrated look with the vehicle’s existing design features and layout.

This Mercedes-Benz E350 hitch is rated to tow up to 2,000 lbs. gross trailer weight and 200 lbs. tongue weight. This makes it an excellent choice for any cargo carrier or bike rack as well as a variety of lightweight trailers (never exceed the lowest-rated towing component). It features a 1-1/4" x 1-1/4" receiver tube to accept a ball mount or other trailer hitch accessories. The hitch receiver tube also has an open back to allow for easy cleaning as needed.

We maintain a dedicated Engineering facility near Detroit, MI -- the heart of the automotive industry -- to test all of our hitches to strictest safety standards. Finally, we finish each trailer hitch with a unique co-curing process. First, we immerse the hitch in a rust-resistant liquid A-coat to coat the entire piece inside and out. Then, a durable black powder coat is applied to seal out rain, dirt, road salt and other threats. Finally, these two coatings are co-cured together, creating an industry-leading rust, chip and UV-resistant finish.

    Nice Hitch - Tough To Install

    I agree with another reviewer that this hitch was not the easiest to install. My car has the 'wave your foot under the car to open the trunk' option, so the sensor was in my way the entire process. I tried removing it, but there are hidden fasteners everywhere and to be honest, I finally gave up and decided to just drill through it. The bumper material on these cars is very hard, and if using high-speed bits be sure to go slow and use plenty of coolant. The most aggravating piece of it is that the fishwires are too short - by a pretty good bit. I ended up connecting them together to make one long fishwire with the two coils on either end. That worked fine, but that is something that really should be resolved in the installation kit. Curt - are you listening? The final pain was torquing the four forward mounting bolts. The four bolts at the back were easy, but I thought the front four were going to kill me. What with the car on jackstands and not on a lift, the exhaust limiting my wrench swing, and the contorted position I had to get into just to tighten them, it took me forever to get them torqued down. Nice hitch, but boy am I glad the installation is over.

    Great Hitch not the easiest to install

    This is my 2nd Curt hitch. I put one on my earlier 2006 E-320 CDI. Curt makes quality stuff. However, one miss on this one. When installing the #11001 on my 2015 E350 sedan the fish wires are not long enough to reach the ends of the bumper tube (there are no cutouts) The 20 inch fishwires need to be 30 inches. I had to tape it onto my electrical fish wire. I went through three bits drilling bumper holes. I didn't want to buy a $50 carbide drill bit so just took my time with quality standard bits. Start small with 3/16, then 3/8 and then the 17/32 noted. Takes more like 2 hours to install rather than the 45mins listed. I also painted the heads of the back plate carriage bolts. Overall a robust hitch for the car although I will only be using it for a bike rack.

    ORDERED THRU MY LOCAL LEONARD TRAILERS DISTRIBUTOR/INSTALLER IN CONWAY, SC. WAS EASY FOR THEM TO INSTALL. IT WORKS GREAT W/MY SARIS SUPER CLAMP BICYCLE RACK.
