Making memories doesn't start when you reach your destination; it starts at the very first mile of your journey. Wherever your road begins and wherever it takes you, Bring It® with the power of CURT.

CURT custom wiring provides everything you need to connect your vehicle's electrical system to a trailer. With plug-and-play connectors, a custom wiring harness easily integrates with your vehicle taillights to provide a standard trailer wiring connector, typically in the form of a 4-way flat.

This custom wiring harness features a vehicle-specific design to perfectly fit certain years of the Ford Transit Connect (to verify vehicle compatibility, see the CURT application guide or use the Vehicle Lookup on the CURT website). It uses OEM-compatible connectors to "T" into the vehicle's taillight assembly and provides a standard 4-way flat output to power the taillights, brake lights and turn signals on your trailer.

To complete this custom wiring harness, it comes with a rubber dust cover. This cover keeps the connection points clean and well protected when the connector is not in use. Once installed, the connector can also be conveniently mounted on the vehicle's trailer hitch receiver tube, using a CURT Easy-Mount connector bracket. The bracket mounts onto the trailer hitch with no drilling required, and its powder-coated steel construction provides a solid attachment point for plugging in the trailer wiring.

    It works as intended but....

This product works. The issue is that it could use a redesign for a quicker and cleaner install.
instead of extending he passenger side green wire, keep that short and extended the driver side harness. Why??? I'll list
1-no need for wire to battery. 12v power and ground are both located behind the passenger back panel.
2-rubber grommet located behind same panel that allows the trailer harness to go from inside to outside without interference with any exhaust system.
3-no wiring hanging out the back doors when in use, as well as no wire harness in the back area.

Has a more polished custom look when these changes are done.

    2018 Transit Connect LWB XLT

Just started yesterday to install this harness, I got too far before I realized it hadn't been updated for the XLT. First off, there is no reason to remove the item in picture number 2, first off, it gets you no where but mad, besides on the XLT, the rear is just like any other car of this type, covered with carpeted panels, that usually get damaged when trying to remove, and with the extra seats in the rear, you have 2 more seat belt winders behind the panels that you can remove, that render any access to the harness, plus, it looks like the best bet, is to route the passenger side connector thru the driver side first, then up thru the big body plug an that side. I will take pictures, and send them if you need them, I am now starting over, the winders can be removed to gain access to the connectors, but barely, the easiest route seems to be down thru from the right side, the wiring runs from side to side, back above the bumper, so that should be kinda easy, I spent the most of the first day, removing the panel in picture 2, only to find out it was installed first then the trim panels on both ends, I did get it back in without destroying it, but wasn't real happy that I had to do it, per the instructions. The hitch install is about a 45 minute install, piece of cake, even with no help and on your back, it worked out fine, I knew the wiring would be the problem, and it has proven me right again. Let me know if you need the photos. Bob
