A CURT custom wiring harness (also called a T-connector) is a simple, plug-and-play electrical device that eliminates the need for cutting, splicing and soldering when installing vehicle-to-trailer wiring.

Most vehicles do not come ready to tow. Unless your vehicle has a towing package, it is probably not equipped with a trailer wiring connector. This is where CURT's custom wiring harnesses come into play. Custom wiring harnesses plug into your vehicle's electrical system using original equipment (OEM) connectors. Our custom wiring harnesses use two or more OEM connectors to plug in at the taillight assembly and provide a standard trailer socket to allow a trailer to be plugged into your vehicle's power system.

This harness provides a 4-way flat connector socket and comes with a circuit-protected converter. It is designed to be a custom wiring harness for certain years of the Dodge Journey (to verify your vehicle compatibility, see the CURT application guide at curtmfg.com). CURT custom wiring harnesses are long-lasting and quick to install. They come with dust covers to keep your connector clean when not in use and feature a one-year limited warranty to give you peace of mind.

    What's all the fuss about

Installation was simple and the instructions were well laid out. After stretching the green right twilight wire and pulling it tight around the sharp sheet metal corners I had at least 3/16" it wire to spare.
I bought this light controller to replace the one from U-Haul that lasted 2 months (no warantee because I installed myself).
Hopefully this one will last longer.
    Time will tell

    Quick and easy

I've been using Curt products for years, so I thought this would be just as simple as all the others. I've never used "quick" connect type harnesses before, so this was a first. Everything connected just fine. Only downside is that the harness wire for the passenger side tailight assembly is too short. I had to splice the wire to make it long enough to reach the tail light. I think it's something that should be address ed as the need to make a splice and add wire takes away from "quick connect". Other than that, it works well and I'l happy with it.

    wiring is too short

I have to start out by saying I have been using Curt products for four years on my wife and my cars, four total, and have never been dissatisfied. This harness assembly however, is too short to get from the install point on the Driver's side of the car to the passenger's. I don't know if it is because I have a 2014 Journey and there is no way to feed it up and over the crossbeams under the car or not. Either way, it needs about 6 to 8 inches of wire at the least to be long enough. I suggest not sticking the control box with the tape until you have it plugged in on both tail lights, and reinstall the passenger light. That's what worked for me. Hope it helps.
