Additional Information

The CURT class 3 trailer hitch is the most common type of trailer hitch installed on full-size pickup trucks and SUVs. It is also found on full-size cars, crossover SUVs, minivans and mid-size trucks. That is because the class 3 packs the punch of a heavyweight hitch while still staying light on its feet. This CURT class 3 hitch offers a gross trailer weight capacity of 3,500 lbs. and a comparable tongue weight capacity of 350 lbs. It is designed to be a custom-fit trailer hitch for certain years of the Honda CRV (to verify your vehicle compatibility, see the CURT application guide at It features a round tube frame and comes with all necessary hardware for a complete installation.

The 2" x 2" receiver tube opening of this class 3 hitch is able to accept a hitch-mounted accessory, such as a bike rack or cargo carrier, or a ball mount to tow most standard size trailers, including utility trailers, single-horse livestock trailers, boat trailers and large campers (NOTE: Never exceed the lowest weight capacity of any towing component).

CURT class 3 trailer hitches are engineered to be strong and capable, having a quality steel frame and a solid finish. They are put through strenuous testing before being deemed ready for market and come with two coatings -- a liquid Bonderite coating and a powder coat in high-gloss black -- that cure together to form a strong resistance against rust, scratching, UV damage and other wear. Our hitches are our pride, and as such, we back them up with a limited lifetime warranty and a one-year finish warranty.

Meet all expectations-Excellent Quality for the cost-Hitch fitted petfectly

A little advice

Very well made and easy to install, however I highly recommend that you leave the plastic panel on the car when you cut it. There is nothing under it in the way. I took mine off to cut, very hard to put back on!!! Took longer to reinstall panel that to install the hitch. Also a squirt of WD-40 on the muffler rubber mounts works wonders.

Excellent Hitch

Well made and perfect fit on my CR-V , Installation was easy. The time consuming part was getting the muffler donuts off or loose. The finish and the welds were perfect. I would definitely recommend this hitch.

Curt hitch for 2013 Honda CRV.

Easy install one person (two would be easier). I cut the plastic underside panel (driver side) without removing it ----not hard to do.. only made the cut on 3 sides, I left the forward 3 1/4" solid,so you can pull down a flap of the plastic to install the hitch bolts

Class III Hitch 2012 CRV

The hitch is top notch, fits perfectly and installs fairly quickly. If it wasn't for the CRV's panel covering the area of install and which need to be cut, I would have had the hitch installed in less than 20 minutes. The panel removal was fairly straight forward, but the panel has permanently installed padding which you need to cut through as well. Since this padding is like cotton batting, you will need to secure the cut edges of the padding with duct tape to prohibit the padding from falling apart. This is not noted in the installation instructions. Also, I was able to tighten down the front most bolts, but the bolts nearer to the rear of the car would not torque down. This appears to be a CRV issue not a fault of the hitch. I feel it is probably adequately attached for what I pull. All they need now is to develop the plug and go trailer harness for the 2012 CRV.
