Safety Cables

When you think towing safety, one thing that may come to mind is safety chains. Every vehicle-trailer combination requires a set of safety chains to be properly connected before starting on a new adventure. However, one thing that may not come to mind is an alternative to safety chains. CURT safety cables are a more convenient and equally reliable option for protecting your trailer from a full disconnect.

CURT safety cables are made with strong steel cable to provide a work load limit to match most safety chains and provide a reliable safety connection between your tow vehicle and trailer. However, safety cable also have a few features that set them ahead of most safety chains. First, because of their tightly coiled design, safety cables provide additional ground clearance, staying close to the trailer frame and preventing them from dragging on the ground. Second, safety cables feature a nylon coating that covers the entire length of the cable in a waterproof casing. This prevents rust and corrosion, and makes the cables easier to handle. Finally, all CURT safety cables come with safety latch S-hooks. These hooks easily snap onto the loops of your trailer hitch and ensure a more secure attachment with their spring-loaded design. Over rough terrain and bumpy roads, CURT safety cables will not come loose.

We off our safety cables in three capacities to accommodate most light-duty and medium-duty trailers: 3,500, 5,000 and 7,500 lbs. They come in 42"lengths, and each package contains two safety cables.
